We’re happy to announce that we’ve added two brand new wines to our online shop, just in time for peak summer sipping! Frico Bianco and Frico Rosso are two excellent wines from Scarpetta Wine, a winemaker out of Italy. The folks behind Scarpetta — which refers to a small piece of bread used to soak up the last bit of sauce on your plate — are firm believers that every meal should include a glass of wine, and we couldn’t agree more.
Frico Bianco is a white blend of Friulano and Chardonnay from Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the northeast corner of Italy. It’s light, aromatic, and crisp—everything you could want in a white wine during the summertime.
Our red wine offering, Frico Rosso, is a tart red made from a blend of Sangiovese and small quantities of the grapes Canialolo, Ciliegiolo, and Colorino. Like most Tuscan red wines, it boasts delightful herb notes, balanced with tart cherries.
Midtown Grille’s resident wine geek, and assistant manager, Tripp Sofield calls these bottles “great summer Italian wines” for their light, easy-drinking quality and refreshing taste. We recommended pairing them with our scallops, salmon, or short rib!
Order a bottle (or two!) of Frico Bianco and/or Frico Rosso on our website, and make sure to put your desired pick-up time in the order notes. Cheers!
